Since its inception in 2018, the Jangheung Water Festival has become one of the most renowned regional festivals in Korea, being selected as Jeollanam-do's representative festival for ten consecutive years. The festival features exciting events such as water fights with local residents and tourists, street parades, and thrilling water battles accompanied by music and dance teams. You can also enjoy freshwater fish catching in the Tamjin River, including eel, catfish, and crucian carp. Dance to the beats of famous EDM DJs in a massive club-like atmosphere, participate in water tug-of-war, and take on the surfing board challenge.
The festival offers a variety of activities that allow you to experience the history and traditions of Jangheung. The opening ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 7:30 PM.
