Resting place for Seoul People, Cheonggye Stream
Shall we stroll?
Cheonggyecheon Stream, stretching 11 kilometers through central Seoul, was recreated as a part of a city rejuvenation effort. It revives a historical stream from the Joseon Dynasty era (1392-1910). After the Korean War (1950-1953), the stream was concealed beneath an overhead road, built during the nation's recovery period. In 2003, this road was removed to bring back the stream to its current state.
